How a detail works

A car wash cleans the outside. Car detailing works through the whole car in order, outside first, then inside, and each package goes one step further than the last. This is what happens to your car and which package covers each step.

  1. Wash, wheels and tires

Every package starts here. The car is washed by hand, the wheels and tires are cleaned, and the paint is towel dried.

  2. Decontaminate the paint

Silver and up add a clay bar. It lifts the bonded grit that a wash leaves behind, which is why paint can still feel rough to the touch after a wash.

  3. Polish and protect

Silver seals the paint with a spray wax. Gold machine polishes the painted surfaces to bring the gloss back. Platinum adds a further polishing pass aimed at minor swirl marks.

  4. Interior

Bronze vacuums the carpet and seats and air dusts the door panels and dash. Silver refreshes the door panels and seals the leather. Gold shampoos the carpet, steams and shampoos the seats, and runs an ozone treatment for odors. Platinum works on stains in the carpet, seats and headliner, and takes out pet hair and sand.

  5. Finishing

Platinum finishes with a glass polish for water marks and dressing on the plastic trim. Every package leaves with an air freshener.

Straight answers

Which package does your car need?

Regular upkeep Bronze

The car is in decent shape and just needs a reset. A wash, clean wheels and a vacuum is often all it takes.

Paint feels rough or looks flat Silver

Run your hand over the hood after a wash. If it feels gritty, the clay bar takes that off and the spray wax brings some shine back.

Stained seats, tired carpet, a smell Gold

Shampooed carpet, steamed and shampooed seats and an ozone treatment deal with the inside, and the machine polish lifts the paint.

Pet hair, sand, headliner stains Platinum

Dog in the back seat, beach trips, or light swirl marks you can see in the sun. Platinum is built for the car that needs everything.

What interior and exterior detailing will not do: a scratch deep enough to catch your fingernail has gone through the clear coat, and polishing will not take it out. We would rather tell you that up front than sell you a bigger package.

Planning more work?

Detailing, then protection

If you are planning a ceramic coating or paint protection film, the paint has to be clean and decontaminated first, because whatever is on the paint gets sealed underneath. That is why a detail and paint protection make sense booked together. Window tinting and headlight restoration are separate jobs, but if the car is coming in anyway, ask about doing them on the same visit.

Car detailing questions

How much does car detailing cost?

Our packages start at $60 for Bronze, $140 for Silver, $200 for Gold and $295 for Platinum, plus tax. Every car is different, so a larger vehicle or a very dirty interior can move the price. Call (657) 400-9300 and we will give you a real number for your car.

How long does a detail take?

Our booking menu sets aside about 45 minutes for Bronze, about an hour and a half for Silver, about 3 hours for Gold and about 4 hours for Platinum. A car that needs extra work, like heavy pet hair or a lot of stains, can take longer.

What is the difference between a car wash and auto detailing?

A car wash is a basic clean of the outside. Auto detailing goes further on both the inside and the outside: decontaminating and polishing the paint, shampooing carpet and seats, treating odors and working on stains. Our Bronze package is the closest thing to a thorough wash, and each package above it adds more detailing work.

How often should I get my car detailed?

It depends on how the car is used and where it is parked, but a full detail every 3 to 6 months keeps most cars in good shape. A Bronze in between is a simple way to keep a clean car clean.

Does detailing remove scratches?

Light swirl marks can be reduced with machine polishing, which is part of Gold and Platinum. Deep scratches that go through the clear coat are a different job, and polishing will not remove them. We will look at the paint and tell you which one you have.

Do you detail trucks and SUVs?

Yes. Cars, trucks and SUVs all come through the shop. Pricing depends on the size and condition of the vehicle, so let us know what you drive when you book.

We are at 14191 Beach Blvd Suite #A in Westminster, and drivers come to us from Huntington Beach, Garden Grove, Fountain Valley, Santa Ana and across Orange County. We are not a mobile detailer. Every detail is done inside the shop.
